Mike Hensley

Clinton County Council Member District LG

Mike Hensley was elected to the Clinton County Council in 2012. He is an at-large member.

Hensley grew up on a farm in Kirklin. He served three years in the United States Army after graduating from Clinton Central High School.

Now retired from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Hensley worked as a deputy, a chief deputy, and a school resource officer and also served as Sheriff for eight years. He also ran a grain farm and owned an antique store and an office cleaning business for some time.

In his time as a councilor, Hensley is most proud of the council’s funding of a new jail, extension of utility services to I-65, and construction on a roundabout at State Road 28 and County Road 800 W.

Aside from his elected position, Hensley has served his community through board service to the Clinton County United Way, Quinton’s House, Friendship Village, and the Nickle Plate Credit Union.

Hensley and his wife have been married for 53 years. They share two adult sons, four granddaughters, and two grandsons. When he’s not watching his grandkids, Hensley enjoys traveling and restoring old cars and trucks.
