Mary King was caucused on to the Clinton County Council in December 2023 to fill a vacant seat. She is an at-large member.
King was born and raised in Hillisburg. A Clinton Central High School graduate, she retired from the Town of Kirklin after serving 32 years as the Clerk-Treasurer. Prior to being elected Clerk-Treasurer, King spent a year and a half as the town’s Deputy Clerk-Treasurer.
King spent many years as a leader on the Kirklin Youth Council and is one of the founding board members of the Bridge Youth Center, a non-profit established to provide a “safe place for teens in the community to hang out and hear the word of God.” She most recently served as a Kirklin Main Street board member. King and her daughter also lead a bible study and craft time for the women and children at Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis twice a month.
King has two adult daughters, one granddaughter, and four grandsons. Aside from spending time with her family, she enjoys camping, fishing, and traveling. She’s also passionate about fitness.
