Josh Uitts

Clinton County Commissioner, District 2

Josh Uitts was elected to the Clinton County Board of Commissioners in 2016. He represents District 2 which includes Center Township and the City of Frankfort.

Uitts grew up in Clinton County and graduated from Frankfort High School prior to attending Purdue University. He has worked at the Frankfort Fire Department for 23 years and currently serves in the role of Deputy Chief. Uitts also works as a funeral assistant at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Prior to his time as a County Commissioner, Uitts served on the Frankfort City Council for four years. He has also been active in several charities, serving as a board member, past president, and campaign chair for the Clinton County United Way, as well as a mentor for Coach Kids, and a board member for both the Clinton County Family YMCA and Clinton County Boys & Girls Club.

In his time as a commissioner, Uitts helped steward the building of three EMS stations, oversaw the installation of water and sewer to State Road 28 and I-65, and shepherded in a new hospital. He’s also proud of the commissioners’ role in securing more than $14 million in paving projects and bridge replacements and the current effort to build a new County Annex Building and renovate the historic County Courthouse.

Uitts and his wife Stacy have two kids. Their son is a freshman at Clinton Central High School and their daughter is a sixth grader at Frankfort Middle School. When he’s not working, Uitts enjoys spending time with his family and dabbling in pre-war classic automobiles, history, and music.
